| Self Recycling was started by Wayne Self in 1964 as Kleen Garbage Service. This was a residential garbage service that eventually included industrial service as well as some recycling from waste generated at local industry. This business was sold in 1969 while Wayne was serving as Bartow County Commissioner. After an unsuccessful re-election bid in 1972, Wayne got back into the garbage business by starting Self Garbage & Waste Paper and buying a 2 acre facility at 332 North Erwin Street. The business was incorporated in 1977 as Self Recycling, Inc. In 1981 The business was moved to our present location at 168 Cassville Road. This facility encompasses 42 acres and is serviced by CSX Railroad. We have 2 truck scales, a fleet of trucks and many different containers to service our customers. |
